Breakpoints #6
Next week I’m going to Japan! I’m going to stay at Tokyo from Mar 24th to Mar 29th, and we (with my girlfiend and another couple) are going to visit Disneyland and Mount Fuji. Really excited stuff ahead.
I was super busy the last week to finish as much work as possible so I can enjoy the trip laptop- and responsibility-free. During the trip I will try to read and write more than usual :)
Helix robots look amazing. And they can even handle normal tasks with such great dexterity. I remember there was something about AI that it can handle things unimaginable to human, but struggle with simple things like moving eggs to the fridge.
To avoid being replaced by LLMs, do what they can't. Recently I read a lot of Sean’s work, and while there are points I relate to a lot, some of his writings make me realize “Damn I still have a lot to learn, and not just about coding techniques”
The best standing invitation I have ever read, hands down. Had a blast reading this.
No, AI will NOT take your job. I am still trying to be an optimist since being an optimist takes strength, but sometimes things are just so much and there were so much fear-mongering that I feel kind of depressed. These kinds of videos helped a lot.
Agile and Scrum are cool, but sometimes I just cannot stand Scrum.
Old post, but I like the idea of programming as gardening. I spent a lot of my spare time building things that I have no idea about before to get a better sense of it, and with each project grows larger, I feel like a gardener watching the fruits.
Have been practicing how to listen better by just, you know, getting curious.
Dunking on Steve Ballmer sounds cool, but watch out!
